From Bali With Love (11) : Rice Terraces in Ubud

by v1olet on Sunday, March 14th 2010 in Nature, Places |      14 Comments

Subak is the name of water management (irrigation) system for paddy fields on Bali island. For Balinese, irrigation is not simply providing water for the plant’s roots, but water is used to construct a complex, pulsed artificial ecosystem. Paddy fields in Bali were built around water temples and the allocation of water is made by a priest.  (Wikipedia)

Do you want to have your afternoon coffee or tea with this view?

How about lunch in a restaurant with the panorama of rice fields ready for harvest ?

Just go to Bebek Bengil Restaurant, you’ll get lunch and beautiful view.

The dark and the delicate.

by storyofbing on Saturday, March 13th 2010 in Nature |      16 Comments

This is the first time I am posting a black and white photo in this site.

I had started off wanting to capture the beautiful sunset when I spotted this gorgeous tree.

I thought converting this photo into a black and white one brought out the contrast between the delicate-ness of the tree and the fierce-ness of the dark gloomy clouds.

Girlish Side

by alexa on Friday, March 12th 2010 in Object |      8 Comments

Days ago, all my friends used to stack their presents on my desk and asked me to wrap it.
And because I kinda a perfectionist one, I can’t never stand a messy wrapping.

And this boxes reminds me of something: I hate surprises, but I do love all the presents!

A box of gift is never perfect without a ribbon. Now, another my girlish obsession which I just realized it couple years back is: collecting ribbons :)

Do you have any girlish side? Don’t be ashamed to tell us!

A Night at Melaka Part 2 (JONKER STREET – Night market)

by krizzcross on Thursday, March 11th 2010 in People, Places |      6 Comments

JONKER STREET, spur into it’s highest spirit only during weekend, with stalls setup along the street ranging from food, cloths, ladies costume jewelery, ice cream, line dancing and much more! People are all over the world walks through the street enjoying the every moments.

This artistic looking man was playing numbers of evergreen and country music. He plays very well, balancing between his harmonica and guitar’s tune.

This is kinda like Melaka Idol. The lady singing with the help of KTV device while the rest watching the performance.

The difference is.. you have to bring your own chair!
