Nepal EBC Trip: Gokyo, Chola 1 Wasteland

by krizzcross on June 21, 2010

Beside Gokyo lake, there is a long glacier stretches in multiple kilometers covered with gravers. When looking down from the Mountain at its shoulder, we can hear rocks or even slaps of ice break off and fall into individual holes …. which is water from melted snow.

The whole stretch looks hilly, grey, cold, dangerous to an extend like the end of the world.

A perfect place to shoot a movie with a title ” Forsaken Wasteland” :)

it looks like it’s covered in volcanic ash…a great photo but an isolated and lonely feel to the place.

I could imagine that place must be extremely cold.

Wow…this place is a bitter space. Looks like a good location for fictional movie where aliens and monsters co-exist.

VS, Rose: Thank you.

vange: Yes indeed, except they got water and extremely cold.

life rambling: It is precious experience that I will remember for a long time.

Junezach: You are right. The path are also rocky and slippery. One wrong step and you slide down to the eternal lake.

Tanya: It is surprisingly quiet, we can only hear the whistle of the wind occasionally.

rainfield: Glad that these can add your experience.

Icy: It is a great place to explore within safety lines.

v1olet: Not only cold but also difficult to breath because the air are very thin.

ruthi: Maybe you can suggest this to Steven Spielberg? :)
