From Bali With Love (11) : Rice Terraces in Ubud

by v1olet on March 14, 2010

Subak is the name of water management (irrigation) system for paddy fields on Bali island. For Balinese, irrigation is not simply providing water for the plant’s roots, but water is used to construct a complex, pulsed artificial ecosystem. Paddy fields in Bali were built around water temples and the allocation of water is made by a priest.  (Wikipedia)

Do you want to have your afternoon coffee or tea with this view?

How about lunch in a restaurant with the panorama of rice fields ready for harvest ?

Just go to Bebek Bengil Restaurant, you’ll get lunch and beautiful view.

Green means life. This is a BLESSING. God gave us all that we need. We just have to work hard to become productive and wealthy (does not only refer to financial capacity).

P.S.
The Philippines also has a wonderfully carved rice terraces popularly known as the Banaue Rice Terraces. Search for images in Google and you will be amazed with such wonder. :)

These pictures of Bali show what a beautiful paradise it is. The green is so deep and rich and the lines of the paddy fields are beautiful puzzles. The thatched buildings are inviting …. I can almost smell the clean, fresh air …. I should imagine that it is very sweet.
