We happened to bumped into this lonely white Heron on our way for phototaking.
My friend stop the car and we moving close inch by inch.
My camera was equipped with sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 at that time.
Then I shoot…
This is how it looks a second before someone nearby started car engine, and the poor lonely Heron just fly away in the blink of the eyes!

I have seen this once in a while when I go for my jogging. But they never stayed too long and took flight when I go near.

An amazing capture!
Now these birds always strike me as funny looking. Something like a bowling pin with legs. But I’ve never seen a bowling ping move or fly so gracefully as a heron. They almost look as if they should fall over, they defy gravity both on the ground and off. Too bad he got disturbed and left. He looks very watchful, doesn’t he?
I wonder if this is a Great Blue in its white phase?

What a wonderful picture. They are super birds and fun to watch. I used to live on the coast and we would see a lot of them. It really is a beautiful bird.
