by flyingbeagle on November 29, 2009

Many effort have been made in promoting greener environment and cutting down wastage.

One of the recent one is waterless toilet stand for gents!

No flush needed, and at the bottom of the urinal there is a container of chemical that said can kill all the germs and prevent the odor.

One of the initiative of saving the precious water which still an issue in Singapore.

Environmental Friendly Toilet

What do you think about this guys? Do you feel comfortable using this? :)

The seem to work well enough. Bathrooms that have those don’t smell and fouler than ones that use traditional equipment. As long as the rest of the facility is clean and people don’t use these for other than their intended purpose, it’s fine.

If this is as sanitary as a normal urinal with water, then I would have no problem using it.

Cromely: Agree with you. As long as the germs not flying around freely.

Ratty: This one non water usage.

I’m with Icy, when you post a pic of a women’s restroom than maybe I can give an opinion :)

On a truck to Denmark – we stopped a couple of times at German gas stations; and they all had these kind of toilets… – all clean and non smelling.
Probably some of the cleanest bathrooms I have ever been to….. and “normally” the gas station kinds are “not really clean”….!!

Well, there is much room for improvement for this waterless method. I understand that it can really stink when the device gets out of order….and to clarify I don’t use it as a lady but I learn this from the male colleagues.

Waterless?
Sounds a bit strange.
Oh well, if it works…

these have been around for the past 20 years and actually invented back in the 1890′s. As they are dry, little or no bacteria growth compared to flush urinals. More sanitary and also installed in hospitals. With water and sewer costs going through the roof, and less and less water available, why flush with potable water! I am using them. Cheers
