Many type of animal are sacred in India, one of them is elephant (Elephas maximus indicus).

Elephants has been interacted with human since ancient times. Many ancient story in Asia involved elephant as a sacred being.

Elephants in the past are being used from transportation, war machine to the royal mount for the nobles and kings.

The most precious part from elephants (at least to human) are their ivory tusk, which they being hunted to the brink of extinction for that reason alone.

As usual, almost every species of animal, there is a special breed called albino, and this is applied to elephant too.

White elephant was a symbol of royalty, but now when we heard about it, usually it speaks about something expensive and redundant. What is your view about this big mammal? :)

You should visit Kerala, a state in India and you can see the elephants in large numbers. For many important festivals and functions, elephants play an important role

I like to see them in the wild, not in circuses or zoos like they are here. Although I’m not sure I’d like a wild elephant in my neighborhood!
