Virginia Waters, a part of the Royal Landscape that is spread out across a thousand acres of land. Yes, it is huge!!!! It consists of landscaped gardens, lakes and woodlands. It’s actually quite possibly to spend the whole day here taking a slow walk around, cycling, having a picnic or fishing perhaps? Maybe some star spotting too as I recently read that Russell Crowe was shooting on location here.
Virginia Waters as the name implies is the area surrounding a beautiful lake. I absolutely love the tranquillity and serenity of it and all worries just seem to disappear when you are enjoying a view such as this. Don’t you agree?

We started out here, walking a along the lake until we reached the Cascades, another highlight of the day. Simply loved the soothing sound of the running water here and I just had to take the opportunity to try out the slow shutter function. Doing this gives the water a very soft look and here’s how the photos turned out.

After spending quite a bit of time here trying to get a good shot, we continued along the lake. I made a trip there in May and it was the season for the Rhododendrons as they were everywhere!!!

Having gone around the Virginia Waters area, we then made our way to the Valley Gardens, the landscape garden portion of the Royal Landscape. There weren’t too many interesting flowers or plants at the time I went so I will leave you with a few more shots of Virginia Waters.
