Future Gardens

Introducing our newest member, sylviaspy!

I managed to convinced this talented young lady to share with us, a view through her eyes in this exciting photography world.

Looking forward to see more of her works! Welcome aboard sylviaspy!

Ps: Did I mentioned that she just won an award for her close-up sunflower photo at telegraph.co.uk ? She is awesome! :)

Summer!!! The best time to be going around UK to capture some lovely shots!! The glorious sun has made numerous guest appearances this summer as compared to last year where it was was dark and gloomy most of the time. Hence, it’s a real treat to see the awesome cloud formations and the vibrant blue sky. It makes photography a little easier too as having the pretty sky in the background causes lots of pictures come to life!!! I’ve been going around taking pictures recently and my most recent trip was to Future Gardens.

Before I continue, I should probably do a quick introduction as it’s my first time contributing. I’m from Singapore but I’ve been working in the UK for around 2 years now and am absolutely enjoying my stay here.  Ok, enough about me. :D

Future Gardens (http://www.futuregardens.org/), part of the Butterfly World conservation project, recently opened in St Albans Hertfordshire UK.

Having seen some pretty pictures and since it’s not too far from where I lived, we decided to pick a nice sunny day to check the place out and of course to try to capture some nice shots!!

So off we went on a brilliant Saturday morning and we weren’t disappointed as we managed to take quite a few cool ones!!

My faves are the following two, the sunflower closeup which epitomises summer and the globe which caught the details of its surroundings really well.

The next one somehow gives me an impression of a mirror of time, a young fresh sunflower against its older aging self.

Here are a few more shots that I managed to take that day. Enjoy!! :D

I’m looking forward to visiting a Lavender farm this weekend if the weather’s fine so more on that if I manage to make a trip there.

betchai: She is, glad to have her on board :) Same here, I love the Sunflower, the glass that separate dying sunflower and fresh one (cool concept) and the globe (it’s looks like a giant water droplet)

Looking forward for her next post! :D

Apologies for being away for a couple of days. I was in terrible pain. I went to the Dr. today….diagnosis…pinched sciatic nerve!! I have been in terrible pain for weeks now and didn’t say anything…..but, the last 2 days just became so bad I could no longer tolerate it.
