Jackfruit Tree
The jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) is a species of tree in the mulberry family (Moraceae), which is native to parts of South and Southeast Asia. It is well suited to tropical lowlands. The jackfruit is something of an acquired taste, but it is very popular in many parts of the world. The sweet yellow flesh around the seeds is about 3–5 mm thick and has a taste similar to that of pineapple, but milder and less juicy
One of my favorite fruits. Can you name how many dishes that can be produced from Jackfruit?

nice shots
Alexa: Yes, I can smell the fragrance from far away. I like they made the fruit as a cold dessert ingredient
This is the first time that I’ve ever heard of the jackfruit – the fact that it is similar to pineapple in flavour really appeals to me – I’ll look out for it and if I get the chance try some. It sounds very tempting!
@Polly: the fruit is South and Southeast Asia native, i hope you can find it
The seeds of the fruit are also edible, and contain starches and dietary fibre. They may be prepared by boiling or roasting, or made into a flour.
Gudeg is a traditional food from Central Java and Yogyakarta, Indonesia which is made from young Nangka (jack fruit) among other things, boiled for several hours with palm sugar, and coconut milk. Additional spices include garlic, shallot, candlenut, coriander seed, galangal, bay leaves, and teak leaves, which last imparts a brown color to the dish. It is also called Green Jack Fruit Sweet Stew.
Gudeg is usually served with white rice, chicken, hard-boiled egg, tofu and/or tempeh, and a stew made of crispy beef skins (sambal goreng krecek).
This gudeg tastes sweet and delicious.
