Bellflower, Canterbury Bells, Campanula medium

Thank God it’s Friday!! :)

canterbury-bells

They like rich, well drained soils that are kept well watered. The Canterbury Bells Bellflower, ‘Campanula medium’, has tall flower spikes with elegant, bell shaped flowers that will remind you of a storybook English cottage garden. The blossoms cover the tall flower spikes. Bellflowers have 1 to 2 inch long bell shaped flowers in the colors of purple, violet, blue, lavender, pink, and white. Canterbury Bells prefer full sun but will grow and flower in light shade.

The Bell flower makes excellent cut flowers. Plant in late spring or early summer for bloom the second year. This elegant tall plant is an excellent backdrop for your shorter annual and perennials.
